Delhi Edged Past

It was heartbreaking to see the Delhi Daredevils losing to Deccan Chargers in the semi-final qualifier. It wasn't a surprise for many as Delhi hasn't been in good form off late, particularly their batting. Set 145 as target on a slow pitch,Delhi must have reached the target with Gambhir, Sehwag, Dilshan in their ranks regardless of the nature of the pitch. For Deccan,it is a great comeback. They had to win five matches in a row to qualify for the semi-final and they achieved it. Two players, Andrew Symonds and Rohit Sharma were instrumental in taking their side to the semi-final. Rohit Sharma, the future of Indian cricket scored in all the crucial games, and when he failed with the bat, he shined either with the ball or with his fielding.

Meanwhile,Chennai Superkings made a spectacular comeback by beating Punjab and entered the semis by storm. Captain Dhoni, who struggled with the bat initially, made up with a superb finish to see his side through. Chennai were chasing a stiff target and lost both Hayden and Vijay cheaply. Suresh Raina,as always, and Bardrinath kept the run rate under check by hitting some bold shots.

Koltatta face almost an impossible task to beat Mumbai by a great margin to make it into the top four. That seems very unlikely, given Kolkatta's capability and Mumbai's murderous form.
