I watched the IPL game between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians last night. Kolkata is lead by my favorite the Dada of Indian cricket, Saurav Ganguly. I was supporting his team to win the game. Unfortunately,the team lost to the brilliance of Tendulkar's batting and the Mumbai Indian' bowlers. Ganguly is more popular than Tendulkar down south,particularly among the youth. Because it was himself who showed to the world that India could beat anyone. He inspired a generation of new players to go for the kill. His proteges include Virendar Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh,Yuvraj Singh etc.,Ganguly retired from the game and took the reins of KKR when the IPL was launched. He is going through some tough time as a batsman.I was pained to read a column on his poor form with the bat. In fact,the article explains his batting is gone forever. I wish it were not true. People are talking about his slow reflexes and forgotten skill against spin bowling. Dada has made quite a few comebacks and I hope he regains his form again. There is no better joy than watching a selfless player succeeding.
