With two consecutive losses against Punjab and Bangalore,it's not going to be easy for the Chennai Super Kings.Chennai must have won the game against Punjab facing an easy target. However, the Chennai batsmen made a mess after the early loss of Mathew Hayden. The match was tied due to some brilliant bowling by debutant J Theron. Many batsmen played bad strokes and got out. The match was eventually tied. And then there was the super over. Mathew Hayden was out first ball success the target became just 10. Mahela Jayawardene scored a big six against his national team mate Muthia Muralidharan and celebrated in his characteristic fashion. Yuvraj struggled against the first ball and scored a brilliant reverse stroke to achieve the target. I was surprised with Yuvvi's confident stroke and thought he would get out. But,he sealed the match in his side's favor.
The second game was not that interesting. Bangalore was lucky, because its batsmen played all ugly shots and escaped punishment. It was the brilliance of Robin Uthappa which won the game for Bangalore. Uthappa took the score to a healthy level after his team mates failed to put up a big score. He murdered the bowling of the hopeless Balaji. When batting,Chennai never looked like winning. In the absence of Dhoni and Justin Kemp,Chennai struggled right through. The remaining matches will be very tough for Chennai. The next game is against Mumbai.
