As the Indian Premier League has eaten into the share of films,the theatre owners have decided to screen all the matches in the theatres. The theatre owners are happy with this alternative arrangement of making good revenues. A strong point is that the matches will be telecast live without any commercial breaks.To give a stadium-like atmosphere,the theatres have come up with some innovative ideas, like bringing in cheerleaders and celebreties,selling merchandises,giving away gifts etc., However,this move has faced strong opposition from the Film Producers council. Its argument is that already many films are struggling to find theatres and IPL will reduce the summer collections of films.
